This is the greatest game I have ever played (excluding Skyrim because I have yet to play it till I kill over). The game is set 4,000 years before the rise of the Galactic Empire (you know, 'The Empire', Darth Vader, Death Star, all that stuff).
The 'Old' Republic is waging war against the Sith Empire, led by the Dark Lord Malak (the apprentice of the Sith Master Revan). You begin your journey on the Endar Spire (a republic battleship) that is currently being attacked by the Sith.
The game play mechanics are sorta old school, you select an enemy and your character will combat it all on his own while you can Que up special attacks or powers.
You can turn to either the Dark side or the Light side of the force or even stay in a grey area, each will effect the physical appearance of your character. Your alignment is influenced by simple dialogue choices to what you do during major plot events.
You will also meet a few companions on your journey through the galaxy, all who actively develop during your travels and some are even romanceable.
Your travels will bring to the Wookie home-world of Kashyyyk, Tatooine, the Jedi Sanctuary on Dantooine, the ancient Sith home-world on Korriban, the beautiful water covered world of Manaan, and the metropolis of Taris.
It has an amazing story, fantastic companions that develop and voice their opinions, a fun combat system, a real rpg experience, that is all tied together with a big bow that is the Star Wars universe. I highly recommend this game to any Rpg or Star Wars fan and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I have.
